Koufonisia is a small group of islands located in the Aegean Sea, south-east of Naxos and west of Amorgos. The two main islands, Pano Koufonisi and Kato Koufonisi, are separated by a narrow strait and together they form a part of the Cyclades island group in Greece.

Pano Koufonisi, the larger of the two, is the only inhabited island of the group, with a population of just over 400 people. The island is known for its stunning beaches, crystal clear waters, and traditional Cycladic architecture. Visitors can explore the island by foot or bicycle, as there are no cars on the island. The main village of the island is Chora, where you can find taverns, cafes, and small shops.

Kato Koufonisi, on the other hand, is a deserted island that is accessible only by boat. It is an ideal destination for those who seek peace and quiet, as there are no facilities on the island. Visitors can take a swim in the secluded beaches, explore the rugged terrain or take a hike to the island’s highest point, where they can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Aegean Sea.
